Funding is available for commercial cinema and TV productions. The overall impact of the project on Salzburg, both culturally and economically, is a key factor in determining eligibility.
Film-/Television Agreement
The agreement between the Austrian Film Institute (ÖFI) and the Austrian Broadcasting Service (ORF) aims to foster collaboration between film and television, with a focus on Austrian cinema productions.
Austrian Television Fund
Funding is available for television productions (films, series and documentaries) for their promotion and administration.
Art Section of the Austrian Federal Chancellery
Offers support to innovative projects in the following fields: feature films, documentaries, animations, and experimental films, as well as young filmmakers and emerging talent.

The Austrian Film Commission FILM in AUSTRIA serves as the primary point of contact for overseeing and supporting international film, TV, and streaming projects, as well as assisting potential funding applicants within the FISA+ framework. They offer support and consulting free of charge for international movie, TV and advertising film productions. We follow the requirements of the Austrian Ecolabel 76 (UZ 76) for Green Producing in Film and Television. By following our in-house guidelines, as well as all additional production-specific measures, productions can qualify for the 5% green filming bonus.
Green Filming
Productions that meet the required criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel 76 for Green Producing in Film and TV, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable and climate-friendly practices throughout the production process, are eligible for a 5% green bonus. Applicable for both FISA Plus and ÖFI (Green Filming/Funding) funding programs.

Gender Equality
Productions that demonstrate significant female representation in key roles (within the areas of production, direction, script, line production, production management, camera, editing, script consulting, production design, original score, sound, sound design, sound mixing, color grading, lighting, VFX, animation) can receive an additional €25.000 to 30.000 in funding. Applicable for both FISA Plus (Gender Gap Financing) and ÖFI (Gender Incentive) funding programs.
