Take 2 Studios Wraps Up Its Inaugural Virtual Production Workshop!

Take 2 Studios has successfully wrapped up its first-ever Virtual Production Unlocked Workshop, marking an exciting milestone for the company. The two-day event brought together an international group of participants and industry-leading experts for an immersive deep dive into the world of virtual production.

The workshop was structured to provide both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. Day One began with an in-depth introduction to virtual production, covering its broad industry applications, best practices for planning a VP shoot (from concept to execution), and an exploration of visualization techniques and content creation tools. 

In the afternoon, participants stepped into Take 2 Studios’ LED Volume, where they experimented with merging real-world foregrounds with virtual backgrounds. Key discussions included techniques for achieving seamless VP shots and understanding the technology’s current limitations.

Day two shifted focus to expert-led sessions featuring Jelle van Abbema (ROE Visual), Matthias Aderhold (Assimilate Inc.), Nils Pauwels (IIM), and Steve Giralt (The Garage). Topics ranged from LED panel technology and Image-Based Lighting to the role of the Virtual Art Department and real-world commercial applications – all illustrated with dynamic visual examples.
