Making History at Cannes: Virtual Production Takes Center Stage

This year marked a milestone for our industry: Marché du Film, the film industry hub of the Cannes Film Festival, included virtual production in its official Cannes Next program for the very first time – and we were honored to help shape this debut.

A Pioneering Presence

Take 2 Studios played a central role in bringing virtual production to life on the Cannes Next stage. As part of the “User Cases: Insights from the Field” panel – moderated by Christina Caspers-Römer (TRIXTER) and featuring our own Felix alongside David Levy (Fivefold Studios) and Callum MacMillan (Dimension Studio) – we demonstrated the real-world potential of virtual production with a live showcase of our newest 3D environment.

The energy at the Village Innovation was electric, from deep-dive conversations with VP veterans to the excitement of newcomers experiencing the tech for the first time – and this is just the beginning. With visionary partners like ROE Visual and growing industry momentum, we’re excited to see how Cannes continues to embrace virtual production in the years ahead!
